About the Event

Calling all aspiring musical storytellers! Are you interested in learning how to write and record your own song?

This class is geared toward students who can already sing and play an instrument (piano, guitar, ukulele, etc.) at least at a basic level. Prior experience with songwriting is helpful, but not a requirement to participate. Students will be guided through the basics of songwriting, the elements of music composition, and music recording software. Each student will be tasked with writing their own song over the course of the 5 weeks. Every student's song will be polished with the help of the instructor. In the last two weeks, each student will record their song at the Rockwood Center and will be sent home with a professional recording.

Time:

5:00-6:30 pm

Age range: 11-16

Class Cap: 7 students
